Stephen Fretwell — Emily Chords

I noticed that the other tab isn't quite how it's played really, although it's still a
good version. I saw him in Stoke a while back and have only just worked out the whole
thing... so... I hope you like it.

Riff 1:
Dsus2 —> E1? —> E2? — E3?

Riff 2:
Badd11 —> Dadd9 —> Dadd9?

Note: for the Riff 1, you go from the D, pull off to a Dsus2 for one strum, then straight
up to the E1? This takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you've got the pattern
it's really easy.

Intro — Riff 1, but miss out the first Dsus2

A                             E                    D          Riff 1
You never were going to change your mind, were you, Emily?

A                          E                             D          Riff 1
You just sat back, took it all for you, there was nothing for me;

A                     E       D                     Riff 2
I didn't mean to prove that all I can do is lose

A                      E                     D           Riff 1
Next time that you need me, don't call me up, Emily;

A                     E                      D           Riff 1
I'm tired of your lies and your cheating ways with me;

   A                  E          D                     Riff 2
And every time you go, well please don't let me know

A*                Dmaj7       E
 Emily, you still live inside of me;

A*                Dmaj7             E
 And, Emily, you were the fire in my tree;

   A             F#m   D            E
So if you should fall, please don't call;

    A           F#m         D               E
And next time you write, I won't stay up all night;

      A   F#m    D              E               Riff 1
'Cos Emily you, just look at you — you're a tragedy

A                             E                    D          Riff 1
You never were going to change your mind, were you, Emily?

A                          E                             D          Riff 1
You just sat back, took it all for you, there was nothing for me;

A                     E        D                          Riff 2
I didn't mean to prove that all I'm good for is to lose

A*                Dmaj7       E
 Emily, you still live inside of me;

A*                Dmaj7             E
 And, Emily, you were the fire in my tree;

   A             F#m   D            E
So if you should fall, please don't call;

    A           F#m         D               E
And next time you write, I won't stay up all night;

      A   F#m    D              E               Riff 1
'Cos Emily you, just look at you — you're a tragedy

    A                         E                    D
You never were going to change you're mind were you, anyway

...Slow down Riff 1, and end on an A
